CALM is such a night light

CALM is a small nightlight that provides a quiet and gentle light in hallways and stairways late at night.
In the event of a power failure, it can be removed from the wall and used as a simple flashlight.
It has a built-in rechargeable battery, which can be recharged using a commercially available microUSB cable.
It can be used for more than one month (*) per charge.
※When the light is turned on for 12 hours a day.

Let’s get started

Firstly, decide where to install CALM.
It is recommended to place them at a height slightly lower than eye level to spread the light as much as possible while avoiding glare.

Cautions

Avoid placing CALM in environments with high temperatures and high humidity.
If there is a light-reflecting surface such as a mirror near the lower part of CALM, it may not function normally.

Remove the transparent sheet and hooks from the back of the CALM.

After removing the transparency sheet, CALM will start normal operation. The battery is mostly charged,
but it is recommended to charge it before use.
The batteries are fully charged at your purchase, so please start using it without charging.

Attach the dedicated hook to the wall where you wish to place CALM, following steps ① to ③ below, and hang the CALM body on the hook.

NOTE
The Hanging Strips uses Command™ Poster Strips(S)".

When the surroundings of the CALM get dark enough, the light sensor detects it and the light automatically turns on. When the surroundings get bright enough, the light automatically turns off.

※If the light sensor does not react to darkness or light,The lighting mode may have been changed during installation.

When the light flashes, it means that the remaining battery level has gone down, and it is time to charge the battery.

NOTE
It can take up to 5 seconds for the light to automatically turn on after the surroundings get dark enough.

The lighting mode changes each time you touch the panel.

When touched for more than about 3 seconds, the torch will glow brighter and can be used as a simple flashlight.
(Touch again to return to the original state.)

How to set the Sensitivity Level

The light sensor has 3 different sensitivity.
They can be changed by pressing a button inside of the CALM.
You can choose the best mode for the environment of use.
The sensitivity will be stored even after the power is turned off.

Each time you press the switch, the LED flashes to switch the sensitivity.

How to charge

If the LED flashes irregularly or turns off quickly, please charge the battery.
Charging will start when you connect CALM to a power supply (AC adapter, computer, etc.) with a commercially available microUSB cable.

Cautions

If the battery level is sufficient, charging will not occur.
(In this case the LED will flash twice.）
The USB connector may be damaged if pushed in too hard.

During charging, the LED will continue to flash at intervals of about 1 second, and will turn off when charging is complete.
If the battery is completely depleted, charging will be completed in 4 to 6 hours.

If you remove the USB cable, it will work again.

Cautions

When there is still enough battery left, the charging will not start. (In this case, the LED blinks twice.)
Do not charge batteries other than the built-in battery.

About battery replacement

The built-in rechargeable battery can be recharged 1000 times.
Theoretically, it has a lifespan of over 80 years when charged once a month, so there is basically no need to replace the battery.

You can also open the back cover and replace it with commercially available AA batteries.
Please note the following precautions before exchanging.

Precautions when using batteries other than the built-in ones

Do not charge anything other than the built-in battery.
We do not guarantee the length of use until the batteries run out.
Please remove the used batteries.

Handling Precautions

Do not stick the dedicated hooks where the sticker surface is exposed to ultraviolet rays or high temperatures, or on walls with large uneven surfaces.
Do not use or store the product in a wet or humid place such as a bathroom or kitchen, or outdoors.
When connecting the USB cable, be careful not to push in too hard as this may damage the USB connector.
Do not modify or disassemble.
If you do not use the product for a long time, remove the batteries and store it.
When hanging on the hook, hang it firmly on the hook hole so that it will not fall off.
Batteries should be replaced only in the event of a disaster or other emergency.
Do not look directly at the LEDs in the lit state for long periods of time as this may cause eye damage.
Do not hang anything other than CALM itself on the dedicated hooks.
Do not charge batteries other than the built-in battery.
